Unlike a traditional coursework-based management diploma, this programme is centred on the development and completion of an applied management research thesis. Learners are guided through the full research process, including academic writing, research methodology, literature review, conceptual framework development, research proposal preparation, data analysis, thesis writing, and viva voce defence. The programme may also serve as a structured predoctoral pathway for learners who intend to progress to a DBA, DProf, PhD, or other doctoral-level research programme, subject to the admission and credit recognition policies of the receiving institution.

Assessment
Assessment is research-based and designed to confirm the learner’s development as an independent applied management researcher. The programme does not rely on traditional examinations. Instead, learners complete portfolios, methodology papers, literature review reports, proposal defence, data analysis reports, thesis submission, and viva voce examination. Assessments include:

The final thesis is normally 15,000 to 18,000 words, followed by a viva voce examination.
Admission Requirements
Applicants may be considered based on academic qualifications, professional experience, research readiness, and English language ability. Entry may include:
- A recognised Master’s degree or Level 7 postgraduate qualification in management, business, education management, public administration, social sciences, or a related field
- An equivalent professional qualification with substantial managerial, consultancy, entrepreneurial, or leadership experience
- Normally, at least three years of relevant professional or managerial experience
- Evidence of ability to undertake research and academic writing in English
- Applicants whose previous qualification was not taught in English may be required to provide evidence of English language ability sufficient for Level 8 research study, such as IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, or an institutional assessment of academic English capability

Supervision is advisory and formative. The thesis remains the learner’s independent work.
